Vaccination Certification
As Ontario continues to fight the fourth wave of the pandemic driven by the highly transmissible Delta variant, our government is further protecting Ontarians through continued actions that encourage every eligible person to get vaccinated against COVID-19 and help stop the spread of COVID-19.
The government released guidance for businesses and organizations to support proof of vaccination requirements in certain settings, which takes effect on September 22, 2021. Requiring proof of vaccination will help increase vaccination rates, protect individuals in higher-risk indoor settings, and keep businesses open.
To further increase vaccine uptake, the province is continuing its last mile strategy to reach eligible individuals who have yet to receive a first or second dose. As we continue our last mile push, requiring proof of immunization in select settings will encourage even more Ontarians to receive the vaccine and stop the spread of COVID-19.
To further protect those who face the highest risk from COVID-19 and the Delta variant, our government, in consultation with the Chief Medical Officer of Health is following the evidence and recommendations from the National Advisory Committee on Immunization and will begin offering third doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to additional groups of severely immunocompromised individuals. Locations and timing for third doses will vary by public health unit and high-risk population based on local planning and considerations.

Letter to Cambridge & Greater Kitchener Waterloo Chamber of Commerce Members
We are forwarding the enclosed letter to your attention outlining our collective concerns with the use of QR apps for the confirmation of customer vaccination.
While we support the Ontario government in its efforts to make businesses and other establishments safe for employees, customers and clients, we are asking that businesses be allowed to secure the QR app well in advance of October 22, 2021 to ensure a safe, efficient and cost-effective transition to the new system.
A list of contact information for Premier Ford and Waterloo Region’s members of the Ontario Legislature is enclosed if you wish to forward your views.
